Overgrown Septic Tank Access & Mound System Maintenance – Excelsior, MN
· Excelsior, Hennipen County, MN · Mound System Maintenance
Problem
This residential septic system serving both the main house and guest house consists of two 1,250-gallon septic tanks, a 1,250-gallon pump tank, and a mound drainfield. The septic tank area had become severely overgrown with trees and heavy brush, making proper access to the tanks difficult. A pressure effluent filter is also installed in the pump line and required routine cleaning.
Solution
We cut back and removed a large amount of brush and vegetation to gain proper access to the septic tanks for service. The septic system was pumped and maintained, and the pressure effluent filter located in the pump line was removed and thoroughly cleaned. The system includes two 1,250-gallon septic tanks and a 1,250-gallon pump tank serving a mound system for both the main residence and guest house. Maintaining clear access to tanks and keeping the pressure effluent filter clean are important parts of keeping this type of system serviceable and operating properly.
